Dr Ebtisam Al Alawi Consultant ophthalmologist in Bahrain was the recipient of the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Secretariat Award.
The Secretariat Award recognizes special contributions to the Academy and to Ophthalmology. she have been recognized for being a key collaborator with the Secretariat for Global Alliances, giving voice to the interests and concerns of the Middle East Region. She served on the Academy’s Regional Advisors Committee form 2011 to 2015, and are currently on the Global Ophthalmology(GO) Guide Editorial Board, representing Bahrain and the Middle East/North Africa region. she was the Chairperson of the Local Organizing Committee for MEACO 2016 and were honored as the first Bahraini female ophthalmologist by : HRH Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim, Wife of King of the King of Bahrain
Dr Ebtisam AlAlawi received Secretariat Award Certificate at the American Academy of ophthalmology meeting held in Chicago in United State in 14-20 October 2016 .

The Middle East Africa Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO) is pleased to announce its XIII International Congress which will be held from 4 – 8 May 2016 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center in Manama, Bahrain. This congress is the largest ophthalmic meeting in the Middle East and Africa regions.
